Mary Deissler, President of The Chicago Academy for the Arts
Mary Deissler as been appointed as the new President of The Chicago Academy for the Arts. This extraordinary, independent high school for the arts is one of four such schools in the US. Mary’s years of experience in fund raising, arts management and arts education will serve her well in her new position. Prior to her appointment, Mary served as Chief Advancement Officer for Artis-Naples. Her experience also includes assignments with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Save the Children UK in London, and 15 years as CEO of Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society. She has provided leadership as a board member of London’s Handel House Museum, San Francisco’s Chanticleer, Chorus America, Early Music America and American Composers Forum. Mary earned a BA from the University of Massachusetts in Boston and an MBA from Babson College.
