Martha Gilmer, Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra
Martha Gilmer, who’s experience includes 35 years with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO), has taken over the leadership of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. Her tenure with the CSO included increasingly responsible positions in artistic administration leading to Vice President of Artistic Planning and Audience Development, a position she held of 10 of those years. She was a key leader on the CSO management team which included involvement in labor relations for both the orchestra and chorus as well as the renovation of Orchestra Hall. She has been a leader in the orchestra field for many years and brings her remarkable management experience, creative energy, artistic knowledge and passion for music and all art forms to the San Diego Symphony.
