Declan McGovern, General Manager of the Pittsburgh Symphony
The Pittsburgh Symphony has appointed Declan McGovern as General Manager and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. Declan is originally from Northern Ireland where he earned a Bachelor of Music from the University College, Cork, Ireland. His studies also include Leadership and Change Management from the Ashridge Business School, Herts, England and a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University. His professional experience includes work 14 years with the BBC as Executive Producer, Editor and Chief Executive of the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast. His most recent position was as General Manager of the TRE National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin, Ireland. Declan’s experience with orchestras, knowledge of music and understanding of musicians will serve him well in this position.
